Next up in the Speaker Lineup is our Founder & CEO, Jane.
Jane Uwagboe is the Founder and CEO of Locoomo, a commerce infrastructure startup building Africa's network of neighbourhood Pickup Stations. Through Locoomo, she is reimagining how goods move by transforming trusted local businesses into infrastructure that makes deliveries more affordable, flexible, and accessible.
Driven by the belief that infrastructure doesn't always have to be built from concrete, Jane is passionate about unlocking the potential of underutilized spaces to power the future of African commerce. Her work sits at the intersection of logistics, retail, technology, and community development, creating new revenue opportunities for neighbourhood businesses while improving the delivery experience for customers and vendors alike.
Before founding Locoomo, Jane built experience in marketing, business development, and startup growth, developing a deep understanding of how businesses scale through partnerships and customer-centric innovation. Today, she spends much of her time working with retailers, logistics providers, investors, and ecosystem partners to build a distributed commerce network designed for the realities of African cities.
Jane's work has received support from institutions including Wema Bank, the Standard Chartered Foundation, and the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF). She is passionate about challenging conventional thinking around infrastructure and believes the next generation of infrastructure builders will include everyday entrepreneurs transforming existing community assets into systems that society depends on.
Her long-term vision is to build the physical infrastructure layer that powers commerce across Africa—creating a future where every neighbourhood is connected through trusted, accessible, and technology-enabled commerce infrastructure.
